What is the best length of time to stay in a spa?

As a proud owner of a spa, you are probably all too familiar with the amazing benefits it has to offer. From improving your health to a stress-free lifestyle, there are so many reasons to own and enjoy a spa. To get the most out of your spa, it is important that you use it safely and in a way that benefits you. Safe use of your spa starts first and foremost by staying in the water for the right amount of time, which we will go into a little more detail in this article.

Using your spa safely

How long you sit/lay in a spa depends on several factors, including your health, tolerance and personal preference. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend taking a bath for 30-60 minutes.

Before going into your spa, we recommend that you talk to your health care practitioner if you suffer from a medical condition. This will help ensure that bathing in a spa is appropriate for you and that you are immersing in the spa with the right length of time and at the best temperature for your health.

Some people can spend longer time in a spa than others, and at different temperature ranges. To find out which suits you best, we recommend starting with a 10-15-minute bath and setting the temperature at 36-38°C and gradually increasing the time and temperature in small increments.

Finally, your personal preference can also determine how long you spend in a spa. While some feel they can soak, swim and play for an hour or more, others are perfectly content to get in and out of the water within 15-20 minutes. Pay close attention to how you feel, both in and out of the water, as you gradually increase your tolerance for the water. If after 30 minutes of soaking you feel you have had enough and notice an improvement in your health and lifestyle, then that may be the perfect amount of time for you.

At the end of the day, everyone is different. While there is no magic number for how long you should soak, we recommend experimenting and exploring in a safe and controlled way.
